    Dealer Notes

The 2013 Chevrolet Equinox LS is an impressive vehicle that combines performance, comfort, and safety features. With its ECOTEC 2.4L I-4 gasoline direct injection engine, this SUV delivers 182 horsepower and is paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission. This combination ensures a reliable and enjoyable driving experience, while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Equinox LS is its **brake assist** system. This feature significantly enhances your stopping power by sensing panic braking and applying maximum brake boost. This critical safety feature can help prevent accidents and keep you and your passengers safe on the road.

Another highlight is the **cruise control with steering wheel mounted controls**. This feature allows you to maintain a preset speed with ease, reducing driver fatigue during long road trips. You can focus more on the journey while enjoying the comfort of your Equinox.

Comfort is a priority in the Equinox LS, evident with the **power 2-way driver lumbar** support and **power height adjustable driver seat**. These features allow you to customize your seating position for maximum comfort, reducing strain during longer drives.

The vehicles **variable valve timing** technology optimizes performance by allowing the engine to operate efficiently at both low and high RPMs. This results in improved fuel economy and cleaner emissions, making the Equinox LS an environmentally friendly choice.

Safety is further enhanced with features like **power rear child safety door locks**, which prevent rear doors from being opened from the inside, and the **ignition immobilizer**, a passive security system that helps deter theft.

In addition, **active noise cancellation** ensures a quiet cabin environment, allowing for enjoyable conversations or music without the distraction of external noise. The **trailer sway control** feature is perfect for those who tow, as it helps maintain stability and direction when hauling a trailer.

Lastly, the **hill hold control** feature provides extra reassurance when starting on inclines, automatically applying brake force to prevent rollback.

In conclusion, the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox LS is a well-rounded vehicle that excels in comfort, safety, and performance, making it an excellent choice for families and individuals alike. Experience the blend of power and practicality with this remarkable SUV!

    • Catastrophic Engine Failure in 2013-2014 Equinoxes

      By 910507ae on Thursday, January 25, 2024

      1.0
Do not buy this car if it is the 4 cylinder 2.4l engine. They all have catastrophic engine failure between 90-120k miles. The timing chain will go out and the pcv valve gets gunked up leading to total engine failure. This is a recall but the recall never happened. We are in a financially devastated place and were sold a car that the dealer and bank knew would lead to engine failure while still paying it off. Do not believe the 5 star reviews. This will sink you financially for awhile.
    • Bad engines

If you're looking into buying any general motors vehicle with the 2.4L ecotec, do your due diligence before buying and you'll find a plethora of defects with this engine from faulty pcv systems that clog up in the cold and force a blow out of your rear main seal while you're driving and without warning, excessive oil consumption, to cheap pins in the timing chain assemly that like to come loose while you're driving, all of which can and will cause catastrophic engine failure. Simply googling the words "2.4L ecotech" well bring up a ton of results related to current and pending class actions against general motors over this engines poor design and GMs unwillingness to correct any of the problems with it.
